EVENTS

At Ease Orchard hosts a variety of events both at our home farm in Indiana and across the country. Many of our events are held outdoors and are weather-dependent, so we encourage you to check our event calendar frequently for updates, registration information, and directions. In addition to our in-person gatherings, we also host monthly online virtual events covering a range of topics from sustainable agricultural practices to interviews with other nonprofits that benefit veterans.

Thanks to our generous supporters, many of our events are offered at no cost.

    Curious about compost? Not sure where to start?

    Come join Veterans IN Farming and the Hendricks County Soil and Water District on September 11, at 6pm and learn all about integrated compost and how to build a successful compost pile! Become acquainted with all of the beneficial insects and microbes in your soil, and leave ready to start or improve your own compost initiatives!

    Join us in partnership with Veterans IN Farming for a special event at Promise Keeper Farms lavender farm and distillery, operated by the Geiger family in Churubusco, IN. Come learn from Andrew, a combat veteran and third generation farmer, and Chrissy who has spent hours researching and perfecting their lavender operation. Come interact in the process of lavender pruning and harvesting, and learn all about the many benefits and uses of the lavender plant!

    Looking for some experience in the process of harvesting honey? Have frames that are ready to harvest but in need of access to quality processing equipment? Look no further!

    At Ease Orchard, in partnership with Veterans IN Farming, is offering two open honey harvest days this September! See the process from start to finish as we harvest from our own collection of hives onsite. Or sign up for a time to process your own ready-to-harvest frames of honey using our setup. We will walk you through the process from start to finish. Please bring your own food safe 5 gallon bucket if you plan to process your own honey. 

    We will be harvesting on September 14th, starting at 0900, and again on September 27th, starting at 0900. Let us know when you plan to join in your RSVP!
